the gospel comes to hardees

yesterday mesh and i went to this at the hardees in hixson... and it was downright incredible, literally. i mean, i actually had a hard time believing it was all happening. we showed up around 6:30pm to find the hixson hardees already packed to the gills with the geriatric league, not to mention a handful of eager youngsters. we spent the first 20 minutes interviewing and photographing various local gospel "legends" such as millie goodman, sister of vestal goodman of "the happy goodmans." then we strolled inside to a packed house of cheering, clapping, footstomping gospel singing... or "sangin" as most people seemed to pronounce it, usually at the end of each song and stated emphatically: "now that's sangin!"... wow.

...

of montreal plays lamar's tonight, probably a show worth catching.

the sax player is killing me...
sax doesn't strike me as a "trad. southern gospel" instrument...
you guys should've brought a tape recorder...:)
