cubicle yardbirds

at some point in the process of moving chairs and workstations over to the new offices yesterday a few desk chairs ended up sitting in the cross' yard. i thought they looked somehow very creepy - the juxtaposition of the corporate world and the organic - so i asked josiah and stephen to pose for a moment. i also got some with just the chairs by themselves, but they're really spooky. perhaps i'll get this one printed and hang it here in the new office space.

...

which reminds me... we're finally in. there's cat-5 cable lying everywhere, and the place looks more like a hacker's den than anything else, but its wired, so we're workin'. it's kind of strange to all be in one big room now. no more private conversations (except over IM) and a strange quiet has fallen over the entire office. i'm sure it will wear off with time, especially once we get some dividers hung, but for now the hum of the A/C (and josiah shmoozing with clients on the phone) is all i can hear.

Andy, do you take requests? I was wondering if while your in the St. Elmo vicinity, and around and about Chattown... if you ever happen upon David Kennedy Bird... I would love to see a photo of him. I think he still lives on Beulah. You could get a journalistic shot of him teaching one of his St.Thomas Academy classes or something.

Well, it's just a thought.

he lives on 53rd and Virginia. Across the street and behind my house. I'd be happy to spy on him for you.

Caption of Josiah's thoughts: "Hmmm... how can I make Beck work harder without having to pay him more???"

Ummm... how strange, i google the name "David Kennedy Bird", and i happen upon this strange site... just FYI, i am one of the Bird man's STA students from knoxville and i was googling his name to see if there were any random mentionings of him and his teaching career on the web (something humans compusively do when they are excrutiatingly bored)... cool, i suppose there are. anyhow, hope everyone enjoys their day...
