ugh. mondays. always hard for me to get going... overslept this morning which means i end up working late. but then, i don't suppose i can complain about having the most flexible work schedule i know of. hmm... well, that may not be quite accurate considering that half of my roommates work less than i do. anyhow, struggled through most of the morning today.
spent some time trying to connect a couple of friends both studying in aix-on-provence. it's strange to me that katie mesh and jeff baus, both americans, both studying at the same university in a tiny city in southern france, both intellectuals, have yet to bump into each other. well, perhaps now they will finally meet.
i've been thinking of buying a house here in chattanooga, and had an interesting development in those regards today. turns out, one of my roommates, isaac, is also thinking of buying, and since neither of us wish to give up living together it looks like there may be a bit of friendly competition to see who can find the coolest house first. thats so bizarre. a few that he showed me today: his dreamhouse, and a few others that might be possibilities.
My dream living situations:
1. Old farm house somewhere in northwest rural Georgia: rolling hills, big trees, huge porch with a white porch swing. Oh, and a tire swing in the tree next to the house. specifically on the right side.
2. Flat in San Francisco, on the hill near Coit Tower overlooking the city and The Bay.
3. Flat in NYC. Heck, I'll take one in Brooklyn, lookin' at the skyline, or of course, the upper west side, in the Village mabye.
4. Cabin, mountains, in the northwest. Somewhere in the Sierra's or the Cascades. Heck, I'll even take on near the coast in the Coastal ranges.
All of these must have broadband connections, and of course, must have Andy and the rest living nearby.
